This large financial services group across Kenya and Uganda engaged Engage to strengthen grading, improve consistency, and align reward. Over a two-week in-country engagement we trained a local committee, graded around 200 roles, secured CEO sign-off, and supported a full implementation and communication campaign.
Context
This large financial services organisation operates across Kenya and Uganda and employs approximately 800 people. The client engaged us to support a broad job evaluation exercise as part of a wider effort to strengthen grading, improve internal consistency, and align reward structures across the organisation.
Business challenge
The organisation needed to move from its existing grading structure to a new one that better reflected role size and organisational realities. The project also needed to address grade conversion, compensation alignment, and job title consistency, plus build buy-in at multiple levels, including senior leadership, and support implementation and change management.
Our approach
We worked in-country over two weeks, training a local committee of leaders and employees to systematically grade around 200 positions. Early in the project the CEO requested an awareness session for senior leaders to build buy-in. An executive-level committee was then constituted to review outcomes through several iterations before final CEO sign-off. The engagement later expanded into implementation support, including individual employee letters and an organisation-wide communication campaign.
