Following a major restructuring, this Zimbabwe-based bank needed roughly 400 roles evaluated quickly without compromising governance. We delivered remotely in two weeks, secured board approval, trained committees in Harare, and supported a formal job evaluation policy.

Context

This Zimbabwe-based bank employs approximately 2,500 people and had recently completed a significant organisational restructuring exercise. As part of that process, the organisation needed to review and align a large number of roles quickly in order to support the new structure with a credible and defensible grading framework.

Business challenge

The bank needed to evaluate around 400 positions within a very short timeframe. The project needed to deliver speed without compromising credibility, consistency, or governance, and the resulting structure needed to be robust enough to withstand multiple levels of internal review and formal board approval.

Our approach

We delivered the project remotely, evaluating approximately 400 positions and developing a new grading structure within two weeks. The process was designed to support both speed and governance, moving through multiple levels of approval on completion. We then travelled to Harare to deliver job evaluation training across multiple committee levels and supported the drafting of a formal job evaluation policy.

Outcome

A new grading structure was completed and approved by management and subsequently by the board. The engagement delivered speed, structure, internal capability through in-country training, and a more sustainable governance foundation for future job evaluation through a formal policy.
